Undertale is a popular indie RPG known for its unconventional storytelling and a choice system that directly impacts the entire journey. You play as a child who falls into the Underground, a world where monsters are sealed away after a war with humanity long ago. At first glance, Undertale has fairly simple pixel graphics. But the more you play, the stranger things become revealed behind the humorous dialogue and emotional soundtrack.

In the Underground, you'll encounter a host of memorable characters like Toriel, Sans, and Flowey. Some help you, some try to stop you, and there are also characters whose true intentions are impossible to guess. Undertale doesn't force players to destroy everything to progress. Instead, the game constantly asks the question: is combat really necessary?
Each battle in Undertale requires you to control a small heart to dodge attacks within a square frame. There are chaotic attacks that look like mini bullet hell.
Undertale's most unique feature is its ACT system. Instead of attacking, you can talk, tease, or comfort monsters to end combat peacefully.
Many victories don't come from damage, but from understanding what the opponent wants.
Sparing or killing monsters will affect the dialogue, characters, and ending later on. Undertale makes players feel that every action carries real weight.
Undertale doesn't need stunning graphics or complex gameplay to be memorable. It's the characters, the music, and how the game reacts to player choices that make it one of the most unique indie games ever created.
