UNLIMITED MR SUN SPRUNKI PHASES is a game centered on exploring the various forms Mr. Sun takes across a series of phases. The character starts off relatively simply and keeps changing into bizarre, terrifying shapes, sometimes not much like the original Mr. Sun. Black Goo is also present at different stages, which leads to major changes in the course of the exploration.
The game progresses through different stages, including intermediary versions like 0.75, Phase 0, and the 1.x series. Phase 0 is like a baby and the next phases are changes added to the face of the character, sound effects and the general looks.
In Phase 1.7, Mr. Sun features distinct sound effects. By Phase 1.85, a dark corruption begins to appear and spread across the character. Phase 2 retains this susceptibility to Black Goo coverage before Mr. Sun’s form undergoes more drastic changes in later phases.
Phase 3 sports a dark appearance reminiscent of a squid-like creature. Moving to Phase 4, the imagery shifts to themes of Earth's destruction. Phase 5 takes on the look of a virus or a creature with a bizarre head structure. Black Goo continues to induce various transformations across these forms.
Certain phases in UNLIMITED MR SUN SPRUNKI PHASES possess the ability to resist the Black Goo. In Phase 6 the Black Goo cannot coat the character, and in Phase 9 the dark substance is pushed away. But other phases might be completely consumed and the character will assume a more monstrous appearance.
From Phase 10 onward, Mr. Sun also changes into different forms including an octopus-like creature, a blue monster, a sun shape and even more terrifying forms. Phase 12 has a particularly scary look and Phase 17 looks like an angelic entity.
The final phases of UNLIMITED MR SUN SPRUNKI PHASES continue to push Mr. Sun into bizarre forms. Phase 18 features unusual eyes and hair, Phase 19 is an indefinable creature, and Phase 20 takes on a highly distinctive shape. By Phase 21, Mr. Sun all but vanishes, transforming into a black hole-like form.
